After 22 long years, Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit have come together for Abhishek Varman‘s period drama – Kalank. The one time famous jodi made headlines when they were announced to be cast together for the film. Naturally, they have been asked how it was to work with each other post such a long break. Talking to MidDay about his experience working with Madhuri, Sanjay said that he was actually nervous.
Here’s what he said:
It was great to work with her again. I was a little nervous, but she made things easy. She’s got terrific command as an actor. We spoke about our kids. In fact, I made my children [Shahraan and Iqra] meet her when they dropped by on the sets.
How sweet is that! Sanjay married Maanyata Dutt in 2008 and had twins Shahraan and Iqra in 2010.
For those who aren’t aware, Sanjay and Madhuri were rumoured to be dating during the 90’s and have starred together in hit movies such as Saajan (1991), Khalnayak (1993) and Mahaanta (1997). Now, 22 years later, they have moved on and have beautiful families of their own. There was a lot of media attention on them when they referred to each other as Sir and Ma’am recently during Kalank promotions. When asked about it, Madhuri said that they have all grown up and have come a long way and that they enjoy pulling each others’ legs.
We cannot wait to see them share screen space again!
Kalank also stars Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kunal Khemu and is all set to release on Wednesday, the 17th of April.
