Varun Dhawan can effortlessly oscillate between massy and classy films. He has been a part of films belonging to various interesting genres – Badlapur, October, Sui Dhaaga, Judwaa 2, Badrinath Ki Dulhania – which interests people across various age groups.
October was critically acclaimed and enjoyed by viewers as well, but somehow, it didn’t get its due credit during the string of recently held awards. Speaking about it to Mid-Day, Dhawan said:
The press needs to write about the film not being nominated. Till date, I get at least one message a day for that movie. Recently, Jacqueline Fernandez watched the film on a flight and called me to appreciate my performance. That is the royalty I am collecting.
Being the sport he is, Varun took this in his stride saying he never did October for the awards. He also said awards’ ceremonies have a lot of other criteria in choosing a winner and he is happy to attend them or perform there and get paid.
We agree with you, VD! Awards or no awards, we loved October and it will forever stay with us.
