Irrfan Khan is back to the movie sets after undergoing several months of treatment for his tumour. While we are thrilled to know that the actor is in a better state now, one can only imagine the atmosphere on sets. He began shooting for Angrezi Medium, the sequel to his hit film, Hindi Medium on Friday.
Producer Dinesh Vijan shared that it was a surreal moment when Irrfan gave his first shot and emotions ran high throughout the sets.
Irrfan is undoubtedly one of the best actors in the country. When he gave his first shot everyone around got emotional. For me, it was one of those life-defining moments working with him again after Hindi Medium. Having him and Homi (Adjania) together was something al three of us have always wanted.
When asked if Irrfan also got emotional too, he said:
No, Irrfan was his usual self. Wry humour, crackling one-liners and back on his own turf. Deepak and his improvisations brought the house down. It was like the first day of Hindi Medium.
Irrfan played Raj Batra, a Delhi based businessman with a sari showroom in Hindi medium, and in Angrezi Medium, he will be seen as Champak from Udaipur who owns a mithai business.
Deepak Dobriyal plays his brother cum rival and the two have inherited a 100-year-old sweet shop. Radhika Madan is essaying Irrfan’s daughter who wants to study in the West. Therefore, the cast and crew will shoot in Rajasthan till the end of month and then move to London. Apart from this, the film has yet another leading lady but that detail is being kept under wraps as of now.
