I was not even a bit surprised to see Ranbir Kapoor walk away with all the Best Actor awards this season for his outstanding performance in Sanju. His stellar acting in the film left everyone in awe of him.
At the recently held Zee Cine awards, Ranbir got rather emotional when he accepted the Best Actor award from his bae, Alia Bhatt. He thanked Sanjay Dutt, on whose life the film was based. He then went on to thank his father, Rishi Kapoor who is suffering from an undisclosed disease and is undergoing treatment in New York.
He also opened up about his father’s love for cinema and how all their conversations are mostly about films, even when he is not in the pink of health. During his acceptance speech, he said:
I would like to dedicate this award to very special people in my life, starting with my father. He is going through a little bit of a rough patch in his life and I have often heard that whenever you come at crossroads in your life, you can really tell who you are as a person. Whenever I speak to him, he only talks about movies. He only talks about “how is this film?”, “how is this film doing?”, “how is this performance?”, “what are you doing in this scene?” And more so, he speaks to me about his insecurities that when he gets back, will he get to work in movies? Whether people will offer him films? Will he be able to act in movies?

We wish the senior actor a speedy recovery and hope to see him back on screen very soon.
