As she turns a year older, wiser and fearless, Kangana Ranaut made an important announcement on her birthday today. The actress has reportedly signed the dotted line for a biopic based on actress-turned-politician, Jayalalitha being helmed by director, Vijay.
The late CM of Tamil Nadu was not just an iconic politician, but also a superstar in the Southern film industry – and Kangana is an apt choice to play the part. Speaking about her role, Kangana told an online portal:
Jayalalithaa ji is one of the biggest female success stories of this century. She was a superstar and went on to become an iconic politician, it is a great concept for mainstream film. I am honoured to be a part of this mega project.
The film will release in Tamil as Thalaivi and in Hindi as Jaya. This is Kangana’s second biopic in a row after Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, which released earlier this year. She will also be seen in Mental Hai Kya and Panga this year.
