Keeping the ongoing #MeToo movement in mind, Bollywood has taken its first step to avoid sexual misconduct with anyone on a film’s sets. Taking a cue from Hollywood, director Ram Kamal Mukherjee and producer Aritra Das have appointed an Intimacy Supervisor for the shoot of Seasons Greetings, a tribute to the legendary filmmaker, Rituparno Ghosh.
The film’s lead actress, Celina Jaitly suggested this step to Ram Kamal. Since the film has an intimate scene between Celina and the male lead Azhar Khan, the team collectively decided to hire a supervisor for those particular scenes. It will also help in safeguarding the interests of both male and female actors.
Season’s Greetings deals with the relationship between a mother and her daughter, played by Celina and Lilette Dubey. It’s Celina’s comeback film after she took a break to raise her 3 boys. She was apprehensive about doing an intimate scene post her marriage and motherhood, so the director let her execute almost the entire love-making sequence herself. He further narrated the story to Celina’s husband, Peter Haag to make him understand the importance of the scene to the storyline, so that the actress is comfortable mentally as well.
