If you’ve ever watched and loved Rom-Coms, you’ll notice how cheesy they really are and how we happily eat all that cheese up. We love it and we always think about how this is obviously not possible in real life, but secretly hoping it would. Well, those spontaneous flights to random countries may not have happened to any of us here yet, but it did for two teens from Crawley, London.
How did this happen?
Jack Messer and his best friend Tara Hammersley got hammered one night and went to grab some food once the munchies kicked in. They went to the Mc Donalds at Gatwick airport to eat and one thing led to another. You see, they had a heavy night of partying and they had carried their passports as IDs to enter clubs in. These 19-year-olds didn’t even realise when they booked tickets and ended up on a flight to Barcelona. Umm, yes. That happened.
Tara was so beyond passed out that she thought she died and is on the way to heaven when they were landing in Spain. They obviously didn’t have enough cash to survive a long trip because they didn’t imagine going on this unplanned vacay in the first place, so they came back after barely surviving Barcelona for 4 days.
Here’s what Tara had to say…
When the Daily Mail asked Tara about how they managed this trip, she said,
I don’t remember this but Jack filled me in – the last thing I remember was being sick in the club toilets. Jack remembers booking the flights but can’t remember anything after that. When I woke up on the flight I had no idea where I was – my initial thought was I had died and was on my way to heaven.
We certainly think this could easily pass off as a scene in a movie and we’ll just BRB ’cause we’re planning a not-so-spontaneous, “spontaneous” trip somewhere because, you see, when you’re an adult, you can never really have an authentically spontaneous trip anywhere, thanks to our jobs, families and other commitments. Have you ever been on such an adventure? Tell us in the comments.
