Sara Ali Khan took the film industry by a storm shortly after her Bollywood debut was announced. She was seen in 2 films in the month of December 2018 – while her performance in Kedarnath was loved and appreciated by everyone, she entered the prestigious 200 Crore club with Simmba achieving massive success at the Box Office.
Expectations are running high from Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh‘s star daughter. She is being considered for several upcoming films and has been signed for a couple of brand endorsements too. Recently, she even made her debut as a cover girl for Filmfare’s March issue.
Sara shot for her magazine cover at the stunning Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. She posed against beautiful natural landscapes and the pictures have come out to be great. However, one of the pictures has Sara standing next to a Masai tribesman. The actress has been accused of being racist for using a Masai as a prop, and she is facing flak for it on social media.
Check out the controversial shot here:
If looks could kill… #SaraAliKhan is an absolute stunner in this new still from our latest cover shoot.

Also check out a few tweets calling out Sara and Filmfare for their insensitivity towards minority race and culture:
Sara Ali Khan went to Columbia, and even she could not tell filmfare that maybe her “stunner” picture is racist and appropriative? Come on, Sara, you are one of the good ones!! https://t.co/lNlaaEcnFR

Did someone actually approve this for publishing? In 2019? Shouldn’t you know better? People & cultures are not props for you to appropriate. Disgusted.

Africans are not props! Ok

What is the concept of this shoot? People of other cultures and ethnicities are not props

Filmfare was cancelled a long time ago, so can one double cancel it? #SaraAliKhan should know better, isn’t she that rare star kid who completed her education? Or did she miss out an entire history of colonialism? Or is she just plain stupid and has hidden it well so far? https://t.co/sCs47QvoN6

Wasn’t everyone losing their mind over how “refreshing” Sara Ali Khan is because she “acknowledged” nepotism? Give them some time, they’ll show you their true colours in a bit. Saves you looking like an idiot as well. https://t.co/9G8BaGzNPu

This photo is super tone deaf and Sara Ali Khan & Filmfare should feel super ashamed of themselves, I think the Masai tribeman, who are known for jumping straight high, is doing exactly that in the pic.
His shadow is mixed with the model’s shadow (his foot’s shadow on her pant) https://t.co/kALmf6wUBo— Aditya (@Brewkenstein) February 27, 2019
why are y’all surprised at sara ali khan’s photoshoot??? you expected better from a sis who lies about her age??? also didn’t we all collectively agree on the fact that the entirety of bollywood is trash

Wow Filmfare. Wow.
Kya bech kha gaye? Dimaag ya imaan?
Also. A woman as aware and as well-read as Sara Ali Khan agreed to this? Disappointing. https://t.co/HElLg1ATW5
