We’ve got a solution for the times you crave a delish burger. Here is a simple green pea and paneer burger recipe curated by Vidhi Doshi a.k.a @RamenHairedGirl for the times you wanna cook yourself a crispy burger! Here it is.
What You’ll Need
1 & 1/2 cups of boiled peas
1 cup crumbled paneer
1/2 cup boiled and mashed potatoes
1 & 1/2 cups of sliced mushrooms
2 tsp olive oil
1/2 cup of finely chopped onions
1/2 tbsp of finely chopped garlic
3 finely chopped green chillies
1 & 1/3 breadcrumbs and 1 more cup for rolling
1 tbsp cornflour
5 tbsps maida mixed with water to make a thick paste
Salt and pepper to taste
Oil for frying
5 burger buns
Mayonnaise to use as a spread
5 cheese slices
A couple of lettuce leaves
10 tomato slices
10 onion slices
Here’s How You Can Put It All Together
Step 1
Arrange the mushrooms on a greased baking tray, sprinkle with olive oil, salt and pepper. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180°C for 25-30 minutes, flipping once in between.
Step 2
Meanwhile, heat the oil in a broad pan, add the onions, garlic and chillies then saute them for 2-3 minutes till they’re translucent. Keep the mixture aside.
Step 3
Coarsely blend or mash the green peas.
Step 4
In a large bowl, add the peas, the sauteed onions, paneer, potatoes, cornflour, breadcrumbs, salt and pepper. Mix all the ingredients together well.
Step 5
Divide the mixture into 5 parts and shape them into patties. Put them in the fridge for 20 minutes.
Step 6
Coat the patties in the maida-water mixture and then with bread crumbs. Deep fry each patty one at a time until golden-brown on all sides.
To Assemble The Burger
Step 7
Cut a bun into half and spread 2 tsp of mayonnaise on one side. Place the lettuce and tomatoes over the bottom bun.
Step 8
Place the patties, cheese slice, onions and a few pieces of the mushrooms on top of the tomatoes. Finally, close the other half of the bun and enjoy this delish burger!
