Lakmé Fashion Week has begun and I couldn’t be more excited! Apart from drooling over the gorgeous clothes, I love seeing the cool makeup that the models sport on the runway. One of the looks I’ve been fawning over has definitely been of Péro.
Every model that walked the ramp wore thick, black liner and peachy-coral lipstick. However, the real stars here were their lashes. Rather than sticking to black falsies or mascara, the models enhanced their eyes with a coat of electric blue mascara! Although the makeup sounds quite radical, it actually came together to create a fresh, yet funky statement. The best part is that you can actually wear this entire look when you want to be different, without being over the top. If you would like to try your hand at nailing this look, here are the steps you can follow:
Step #1: Prep Your Skin
Notice how the models have clean and dewy skin? To achieve a similar effect, prep your skin with a good moisturiser. Once the formula has absorbed, pat on an illuminating primer all over your face. Those with oily skin can use such a primer only on their cheeks and stick to a mattifying one on their T-zones.
Step #2: Ace Your Base
Sheer foundations will help your natural glow come through, whilst providing a finished look. Use a sponge or brush to buff in the formula and add thin layers until you get the coverage you desire. If you would like to cover up any dark circles or zits, feel free to dot on a concealer over the concerned areas.
Step #3: Wing It
I’m obsessed with this dramatic wing. If you are comfortable using a liner brush, dip one into a pot of gel liner and get drawing. Else, opt for a felt-tipped liquid liner. Line your lids first and then extend the formula outwards and upwards to get an eye-opening effect. For more intensity, you can run a liquid liner over a gel liner.
Step #4: Get Your Pout Ready
Prime your lips with a hydrating lip balm first. Apply a creamy coral or peach lipstick all over your pout. Stick to formulas with a satin finish or slight sheen to keep with the dewy theme.
Step #5: Colour Your Lashes
Here comes the fun part! Use an eyelash curler first to open up your eyes. Then, swipe on two coats of electric blue mascara from the root of your lashes to the tip. If this is too much for you, tone down the look by first using a black mascara and then layering on a blue one.
