Like every desi wedding ever, our celebs also struggle with limiting their guest list. The A-list weddings which happened in the recent past had only close family members and friends in attendance while the rest of their friends, acquaintances etc. were invited to grand receptions. Ideal scenario, right?!
But sometimes that is hard to accept for our desi parents, who think it’s a crime to not invite their third cousins, their neighbours and the friendly dog’s owner they cross everyday during their morning walk. *Sigh*
Looks like Priyanka Chopra was in a similar situation during her wedding. The actress was recently on an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show and revealed that her wedding at the Umaid Bhawan Palace had 200 guests. Now you know that accounts for an intimate ceremony on this side of the globe, but it’s still a lot in the west.
Sensing Ellen’s surprise, PC explained that Indian weddings are huge with a footfall of 1000 people sometimes. The comparatively small guest list at the #Nickyanka wedding upset her mother, Madhu Chopra. She revealed:
My mother was so upset with me the whole time. She was like I need to have another party for the 1,50,000 people I know. How can I not invite my jeweller, how can I not invite my hairdresser?

I feel you, Priyanka, I really do.
