Should we do a sari with a print that reads Sonam, Masaba & Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga? That looks like it’s dipped in Chai Ka Paani?
This might just be a random WhatsApp conversation with Rhea Kapoor, but the queen of quirky prints, Masaba Gupta has now turned it into a reality. It’s no news that the Kapoor sisters are close friends with many known designers and are seen in personalised ensembles quite often. But their rapport with Masaba is special. When it’s saree time, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Masaba are like a match made in heaven. Sonam has donned many Masaba prints before but surely nothing beats the one we saw yesterday.
When we first laid our eyes on the saree and the Tamil script that was printed on it, we thought it might just be another Masaba masterstroke, but little did we know the hidden story behind the print. We were intrigued by the script and wanted to know at it is. But none of us knew the story behind it. A casual WhatsApp conversation between Rhea and Masaba was the source of this print. It reads as Sonam, Masaba and Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga on repeat.
Sonam wore this customised silk saree from House Of Masaba with a matching organza corset blouse that had the same print. The billowy sleeves and the corset style makes this look refreshing and modern. Rhea accessorised the look with stellar studs from Amrapali Jewels and quirky multirings from Adi Handmade. Sonam carried a Kelly Mini Hermès Bag and statement sandals to coordinate with the print. Sonam’s glam squad continued to paint the pretty picture with rosy cheeks and pink tinted lips done by Tanvi Chemburkar and sleek low bun featuring a gold hairpin styled by Hiral Bhatia.
In her post, Masaba promises to do more such prints from their magical WhatsApp conversations and we wonder how that’ll turn out?! We surely can’t wait to see them.
