Slumdog Millionaire is one film that most of us have seen and it set a benchmark too. Today, the film completes a decade since its release. The Academy Award-winning film was a special one for Anil Kapoor and it brought him critical acclaim across the globe. We saw the actor portraying the role of a game show host named Prem Kumar.
As his film clocks in 10 years, Anil looked back at his film and said that he was honoured to be a part of it.
He shared:
It feels like only yesterday that we were shooting for Slumdog Millionaire, and what a journey it has been since then! Many have called Slumdog a masterpiece, and I can honestly say that I’m honoured to have been a part of it.
He also shared a video of his favourite scene from the film.

While the film went on to become a game changer for Anil, what only some people know is that it was his son and actor, Harshvardhan Kapoor who actually convinced him to do the film. The decision was indeed one of his best as Slumdog Millionaire was nominated for ten Academy Awards in 2009 and won eight including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay. It also won seven BAFTA Awards including Best Film, five Critics’ Choice Awards and four Golden Globes.
Can you believe it has been 10 years since the release of the film? Time really flies, no?
