Grottole is a small village with just 300 inhabitants and 600 empty homes. This village is in danger of disappearing if nothing is done about it. So Airbnb is swooping in to its rescue!
What The ‘Chosen Four’ Will Have To Do There:
To help the village liven up, four people will have to move to Grottole this summer for three months and become the ‘Experience and Home’ hosts. The first month will include getting trained in various aspects. Then move to live in beautiful traditional homes, interact with the locals and learn skills that include pasta making, honey harvesting, vegetable farming, and olive oil production among others. The temporary citizens will then, in turn, host the visitors coming in and teach them the skills they have learnt.
All the proceeds from this will be invested in the bettering the current situation of Grottole. The local olive oil producer, Vincenzo, will be helping out the chosen four in learning the skills. About this opportunity, he said,
