Among the different types of art in the world, one that requires a lot of skill, patience and sensibility is the art of cooking. Even though it’s tougher than it seems, it’s safe to quote Chef Remy in the movie Ratatouille—”anyone can cook”. And if you’re a home cook and are looking to try and test different recipes, this winter we’ve got you an easy strawberry pancake recipe curated by Vidhi Doshi a.k.a @RamenHairedGirl. So, let’s get right to it!
What You’ll Need
1 cup Maida
1.5 tsp baking powder
A pinch of baking soda
A pinch of salt
4 to 5 tbsps of powdered sugar (depending on how sweet you want the pancakes)
1 cup milk + 1 tsp vinegar (or 1 cup buttermilk)
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
1 tbsp soft butter
1/3-1/2 cup of chopped strawberries
butter for cooking
strawberries and maple syrup for serving.
Here’s How You Can Put It All Together
Step 1
Combine the milk and vinegar together in a bowl and keep aside for 5 minutes. Add the sugar to the flour and mix well.
Step 2
Mix in the milk and vinegar mixture, butter and vanilla essence and whisk well. You can add 1 -2 tbsps of milk more if the batter is too thick.
Step 3
Add the chopped strawberries and keep the batter aside for 10 minutes.
Step 4
Heat a non-stick pan and heat some butter on it. Pour a ladleful of batter on the pan and cook till bubbles appear on one side.
Step 5
Flip the pancake and cook on the other side. Repeat the same with the remaining batter. Serve warm with fresh strawberries and maple syrup.
Now, wasn’t that the easiest fix to your pancake cravings? And the strawberries just balance out all that sweetness, don’t they? Try them out and tell us how they turned out in the comments below!
