Deepika Padukone is one of the most gorgeous and talented artists in Bollywood today. She is one actress who has earned fame and critical acclaim internationally for her contribution to cinema. Besides her reel-life work, DP is also known for being a philanthropist. The one thing that she is appreciated and lauded for is bringing to light her fight against depression. Her organization – The Live Love Laugh Foundation also works towards reducing the stigma around depression and spreading awareness about mental health.
It is because of her fight against depression that she’ll be featuring in a children’s book co-written by Lakshmi Nambiar, Reema Gupta and Sarada Akkineni. The book titled, ‘The Dot That Went For A Walk’ will have 50 other inspiring women in it. The book is targeted towards young children to teach them about women power and what it entails. According to reports in Mid-Day, one of the writers of the book revealed that the actress was very helpful and didn’t hold back her insights as the book was shaping up. The book is also expected to have illustrations by artists from across the country. Deepika’s illustration will be created by Ritu Bhattacharya.
This is a great effort towards educating children and bringing forth a sense of confidence and motivation in their formative years. What are your thoughts on this?
