Roald Dahl was an integral part of my childhood. His stories helped me and kids like me all around world dream in colour and push the boundaries of our imagination. From books to movie adaptations, Broadway shows and more, as time and technology developed, his stories were told through multiple mediums. I, for one, have watched Matilda on many occasions alongside my cousins and been mesmerised each time by the way Dahl tells her story. So when I heard that my current favorite passtime aka Netflix will soon adapt some of Roald Dahl’s most iconic stories into animated series, the seven-year-old in me was nothing but ecstatic. From what we’ve seen and heard on the interweb, the platform will be showcasing animated stories like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, The BFG, The Twits and more.Felicity Dahl, Roald Dahl’s wife said:
This partnership with Netflix marks a significant move toward making that possible and is an incredibly exciting new chapter for the Roald Dahl Story Company. Roald would, I know, be thrilled. The Netflix Media Centre Website stated that they intend to stay true to the tone and spirit of Dahl’s stories while also aiming to build an imaginative story that expands beyond the books themselves.
