Sushant Singh Rajput and Bhumi Pednekar‘s upcoming film, Sonchiriya, helmed by Abhishek Chaubey is a crime drama set in Chambal. The film also stars Ashutosh Rana, Manoj Bajpayee and Ranvir Shorey in pivotal roles. The film is set against the backdrop of dacoits, who ruthlessly ruled the Chambal valley in the 1970s and looks quite gripping.

The ensemble star cast is sure to deliver power packed performances and have undergone rigorous training to prepare for their respective characters. While Sushant reportedly interacted with a few former dacoits from Chambal before the project went on floors, Bhumi also went to great lengths to get into her character’s skin. A source told DNA:
Bhumi chose dusty suburban fields to swanky gyms as her training ground and her workout regime included walking with buckets filled with water on her head under the boiling sun, sweeping and cleaning floors, walking barefoot in dusty fields and lanes, grinding wheat, among other rigorous household chores that rural women in India do.
The film is slated to release on February 8.
