Nawazuddin Siddiqui almost never disappoints in whatever role he chooses to portray on screen. He was phenomenal in his latest release, Manto and just when we thought he couldn’t do better, Viacom18 released the theatrical trailer of Thackeray. Nawaz plays the titular role of Bal Thackeray, leader of the controversial political party, Shiv Sena – and it sure seems like he is going to nail this role as well. Amrita Rao will be seen on the big screen after a long time, playing the role of his wife, Meena Tai Thackeray.

The film will release on January 25th, two days after Bal Thackeray’s 93rd birth anniversary on January 23. It will clash with Kangana Ranaut‘s Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, Hrithik Roshan‘s Super 30 and Emraan Hashmi‘s Cheat India. Interestingly, 3 of the 4 films releasing on the Republic Day weekend are biopics.
