Love and love stories can be of so many different kinds. From the sweet teenage crush to the ones about finding love in a hopeless place. And then there are some rule-breaking, ‘Is this for real?’ kind of love stories that people don’t think could possibly be real, oh! but they are. Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra‘s love saga is one of them. The unconventional duo is all set to tie the knot on the 1st and 2nd December. While we’re all in a happy haze of their upcoming nuptials, here’s the timeline of their whirlwind romance that will make you fall in love with the couple.
Nick and Priyanka‘s love story has just begun but for some reason, the couple seems to have a deeper understanding and bond that only comes with time for most. And right as they are about to get married, here’s looking at their relationship timeline and every milestone that brought them closer to finally being husband and wife.
Nick Goes Down On One Knee
No, it’s not a reverse timeline and yes, this happened on their first meeting. As it turns out, Nick and Priyanka who had been texting for a while, saw each other for the first time at the Vanity Fair’s After-Party during the Oscars and in a recent interview, Nick told Vogue how he went down on one knee when he saw the actress. He described the event saying, “This is in front of a bunch of people… I say, ‘You’re real. Where have you been all my life?’ Like, loud.” Sounds like someone was smitten already, right?
The First Public Appearance
Priyanka and Nick first made headlines when they walked the Red Carpet together at the Met Gala in 2017 and what an appearance that was. Priyanka wore a custom-made trench coat inspired creation by Ralph Lauren and Nick wore the same designer too. For the longest time, most of us were under the impression that the Met Gala was where sparks flew between Nick and PeeCee for the first time. But, according to reports in Vogue, it was back in 2016 that Nick first reached out to Priyanka on Twitter and that’s when they started texting each other.

The Memorial Day Weekend
Even though their Met Gala Appearance made people speculate a budding romance between the two, the couple was quick to quash all the reports. It was only a year later that they actually started dating each other. Then this photo of Nick and PeeCee getting cosy on a yacht with a bunch of friends was everywhere on the internet, leaving no doubt that they were, in fact, seeing each other.
The Romantic Dates
Once the cat was out of the bag, there was no stopping these two from going public. They went on multiple dates together and didn’t care who was around or who saw them. A source was even quoted telling People magazine, “They were very affectionate with each other and seemed to not care who saw. Priyanka ran her hands through his hair at one point and they were laughing and even dancing to the music.”

Meeting The Folks
Nick took it a step further in June when he brought Priyanka to his cousin’s wedding in New Jersey. And according to reports, Nick has dated a lot of girls in the past but he had never brought them to a family event. This was enough to show that things were, in fact, getting more serious with the lovebirds and we were loving every bit of it. They were in love and couldn’t stay apart, they even flew across the world to see each other even if it was for just one evening.
Nick’s First Visit To India
It was now Nick’s turn to travel the distance and he did so, happily. The musician-actor came to his ladylove’s city. The couple went out for a formal sit-down dinner with our desi girl’s mom, Madhu Chopra. On 23rd June, Nick displayed his romantic side once again as he posted a video of Priyanka dancing in the Mumbai rains at her house. Nick even accompanied her to the grand Ambani wedding on 29th June, 2018 before the couple took off for a mini vacay to Goa along with Parineeti Chopra and a few others. PeeCee matched Nick’s grand gesture with her own. Piggy Chops took off from India with Nick to attend his concert in Brazil and later also attended another one in Singapore. It was during her beau’s Live performance in Brazil that Priyanka made their relationship Insta-Official with a post from the event. While we were all shipping the duo, who knew they’d be engaged by in less than a month!
Nick Goes Down On One Knee… Again
Nick and Priyanka were completely in love come July. Even though there were a lot of naysayers who made a big deal out of the age difference between the couple, they couldn’t care less. They were spotted all over together and then came Priyanka’s birthday on the 16th of July. The actress, as expected and as we were all hoping for, celebrated it with her beau over dinner. Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner also accompanied them and it was right during the celebrations that Nick went down on one knee (for the second time) and proposed to her. In a recent interview with Vogue, Nick revealed how he had waited for the clock to strike 12 because he didn’t want the engagement date to coincide with Priyanka’s birthday. He also shared her initial reaction in the same interview and it’s too cute. He said, “No joke—she took about 45 seconds. Forty-five seconds of silence. I’m going to put this ring on your finger now unless you have any objections.” Isn’t that cute? P.S. – It was soon after their engagement that we got to know that Nick had shut down Tiffany’s to pick up a special engagement ring for his soon-to-be fiancée.
Making It Official
Reports of the engagement spread like wildfire. However, the couple kept mum about it until their official Roka ceremony in Mumbai which took place in the presence of Nick’s parents Kevin, Denise Jonas and Priyanka’s close family members. The photos were dreamy as ever and we couldn’t wait for their wedding to arrive. This was indeed on this day (18th August) that Nick officially became our national jiju. We also got glimpses of the good-looking pair chilling with their friends and family at the engagement party following the Roka.
Keeping The Love Strong
After the Roka, Nick jiju returned to the US and PeeCee got busy with her work commitments as well. However, they met us soon enough and took a little romantic vacay in Mexico as well. After many romantic moments and double-tap worthy photos, Nick received a special birthday surprise on his birthday. The couple even shared their first on-screen kiss ad it gave us all the feels.
Pre-Wedding Celebrations Take-Off With A Bang
The couple has had multiple pre-wedding celebrations and ceremonies and we have loved every bit of them. Priyanka had a bridal shower and then went on a super fun bachelorette trip with her girl gang which included her cousin, Parineeti, her co-sister Sophie and also Isha Ambani amongst others. Priyanka even took a quick trip to Paris to buy the perfect shoes for her Christian wedding. We were only getting over how stunning the photos were when Nick shared photos from his Bachelor trip as well. All the photos and fun inside-moments were making us wish for the wedding to come closer and then we finally got to know their wedding details. Well, #Nickyanka are only a couple of days away from getting married at a stunning venue in Jodhpur called, ‘Umaid Bhawan Palace’ and we can’t wait to get a glimpse of them together as husband and wife.
