We have been glued to our Instagram feed, all thanks to the #DeepVeerWedding. And if you are like us, you too are going back to Deepika Padukone‘s bridal looks again and again. It’s an understatement to say that she looked breathtaking, especially when she wore those gorgeous Kanjivaram sarees.
Earlier it was assumed that Deepika Padukone wore Sabyasachi for her wedding. It was later clarified on his Instagram that she wasn’t wearing a Sabyasachi saree, but in fact, it was a saree gifted to her by her mother, Ujjala Padukone, as per the Konkani traditions.
Editor of The Voice Of Fashion, Shefalee Vasudev, was the one who brought this to everyone’s attention via her post on Instagram. Her caption consisted of a detailed description of Deepika’s wedding saree. The saree is part of the label Advaya for the House of Angadi, Bengaluru. An email conversation with the store founder, K Radharaman described the details of the saree. The red and gold Kanjeevaram was weaved from real zari and it had a design of Gandaberunda, which is a mythological two-headed bird. He also revealed that Deepika herself purchased her wedding saree along and her reception saree, with her mother from their store.
Her reception’s Advaya pure zari gold Kanjivaram saree was designed by K Radharaman himself. The richness of the tissue brocade saree made it seem like Deepika was gilded in gold.
Apparently, Advaya is the heritage series of the House of Angadi and Deepika Padukone’s sarees were part of the limited edition pieces. Instagram account, Bridelan India, also posted a closeup picture of both the sarees in which the intricate weave details are clearly seen. Scroll through the pictures below to have a look:

We were quite overwhelmed after seeing all the details and after knowing the importance of the gesture of gifting in a Mangalorean wedding ceremony. How beautiful are these sarees?! We can’t get over the regal vibes of both the sarees, can you?
