As someone who has been a first-hand spectator to model rehearsals, hair and makeup sessions and more at fashion week, I can see just how much effort, hard work and stress goes into the making of a model. To a layman, it might seem like just another walk down the runway but it is so much more than that. Walking down the ramp is an art that hasn’t got its due. Models successfully portray emotions like anger, happiness, fear etc just via a walk. Training models to do just this and more since 1972 is Elite.
Known as an iconic institution in the fashion industry, Elite built its reputation by launching the careers of some of the greatest supermodels like Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, Linda Evangelista, Gisele Bündchen, Naomi Campbell, Alessandra Ambrosio and more. In the quest to continue to raise up more models they hosted a model hunt in collaboration with Max Fashion. It is the country’s largest fashion brand and their collaboration with Elite, a global talent management company, began the search for new talent with Elite Model Look 2018. For the past four years, the fashion brand has been a guide for young models who want to make a career both in India and Internationally. The contest is in its fifth year, which began in August and had contestants from various parts of the country make their way to Mumbai for the recently concluded grand finale and relentlessly worked for two months to win the title of Max Elite Model Look India.
Here’s how it all went down.
Round 1:
Contestants sported the athleisure line from Max that was abundant with slogan side tape treggings and joggers paired with sporty crop tops and statement tees.
Round 2:
The contestants wore trends from Max Fashion for the upcoming autumn-winter season and sported tones of navy, black, maroon with pops of colour in between.
Round 3:
The models wore collections inspired by High Street Fashion. It was a blend of business-casual and streetwear. Yup, we’re talking about formal checks, graphic tees, funky hemlines, statement bombers and more.

The show was judged by supermodels Alesia Raut and Deepti Gujral alongside Elite World‘s International Scouting Director Iris Minier, Marc Robinson, Elite Model Look India Licensee and Shital Mehta, the executive director of Max Fashion.
After two months of hard work this power-packed day finally came to an end where Veronica Ruby won Max Elite Model Look India 2018 (Female) and Prateek Singh won the same title in the male category.
We can’t wait to see what these two do for the modeling industry both in India and internationally!
