Today as we observe #WorldMentalHealthDay, it is important to know that while it may be a tough battle, it isn’t one that cannot be won against. There may have been a lot of stigmas around mental health and illness in the past but there has been an increase in the awareness around the subject in the last few years. People are more aware of ways to identify a problem and address it too. The exposure to more information has also made them more compassionate and open to conversations to those in need.
We believe it is extremely important to be there for each other and more than anything else just make a conscious effort towards understanding what someone might be going through. But first and foremost it is important to not be scared about opening up about our fears and pains. Actress Kubbra Sait of the Sacred Games fame also agrees with us.
On #WorldMentalHealthDay, Kubbra shared her views about the dealing with topics and issues pertaining to mental health and said:
The mind is where all the magic is. It allows you to experience the highs and the lows. The fireworks and the blows. On this Mental Health Day let’s spread some love, let’s acknowledge our pains, fears, the joy and the be kind to everyone, and display empathy towards each other.
In the actress’ words, let’s spread some love because every little bit of it counts. There is no better time than now to bring about a change and be the change ourselves.
