Tanushree Dutta began the #MeToo movement in Bollywood after she spoke about being sexually harassed by Nana Patekar on the sets of Horn Ok Pleasssss 10 years ago. Ever since then, a lot of women have spoken about their predators and brought them to the limelight. Recently, after comedian Utsav Chakraborty and Gursimran Khamba, Varun Grover was also accused of sexual harassment by a woman on social media. The woman had shared that Varun had promised her a role in his play and had asked her to meet him at a bar. When Varun told the woman to act and walk towards him, she revealed that Grover suddenly got up, snuck her up from behind and accused him of digging his erection into her back.
After the woman shared the post on social media, Varun tweeted that all the allegations were completely baseless and false.
I completely, totally, categorically deny all the allegations being made. The screenshot in question is untrue, misleading, and defamatory to say the least. Issuing a detailed statement soon.
