Ranveer Singh surprised us after he essayed the role of Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat. The character was cruel and Ranveer portrayed the role of the ruler with utmost perfection. Karan Johar recently announced that his next directorial will have Mughal era as its backdrop. The film titled Takht features Ranveer, Anil Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor. While fans cannot wait to already watch the film, in a recent interview, Ranveer spoke about the period drama, reported IANS.
Talking about the film, Ranveer said,
I’m very excited to be working with Karan Johar for the first time. We’ve been wanting to collaborate for a long time and it’s finally happening and it’s happening in the best and biggest way possible.
He further added that when he got the script, he immediately leapt to it.
Takht is an amazing story. I leapt at this opportunity to play Dara Shikoh who is one of the most fascinating characters that I’ve ever come across. A hero in the truest sense. Karan Johar has put together a stellar cast and a technical crew. I’m very very excited to be collaborating with these accomplished individuals.
He also revealed that the film is a story a family and its ambition, greed, betrayal, love and succession.
Now that the details about Ranveer’s character are out, we cannot wait for the film to go on floors.
