There was something about Mohit Suri’s 2014 love saga, Ek Villain that instantly connected with the masses. The film which starred Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor struck the right chord with the audience and is one of their favourite bitter-sweet love stories. Naturally, when reports about its sequel being made started doing rounds, we couldn’t keep calm. After Ekta Kapoor had announced that she will be making a sequel of the film which will be helmed by Mohit and star Sidharth, we couldn’t wait to witness it. But recent reports suggested that Arjun Kapoor has replaced Sidharth in the sequel.
When we got in touch with a source close to the development he exclusively revealed to us that the news was far from true. The source shared key information that the producers have met both the actors separately. The source also revealed that they have approached Sidharth to play the titular role and Arjun for a negative role in the sequel.
“Nothing is locked yet and the actors are just in talks,” concluded the source.
Now that the truth is finally out, all the rumours can finally take a back seat. We hope the makers finalise the cast soon so that we can witness yet another love saga on the 70mm.
