Sridevi Kapoor is one of the biggest superstars that Bollywood has ever seen. Naturally, the actress’ untimely death came as a shock to everyone as India lost one of its most talented and beloved artists. Her family and fans mourned her death in their own way and social media was filled with heartfelt dedications honouring the legend’s memory. The latest and most evident of them all is the 18 ft tall mural that was created on her 55th birth anniversary recently as a part of Ranjit Dahiya‘s Bollywood project.
While the mural graces the colourful streets of Bandra in Mumbai, fans might soon get to see another dedication to the legendary actress, this time in Switzerland. Yes, Switzerland might soon have a statue honouring Sridevi’s contribution to Swiss tourism considering her film Chandni was shot there, reported PTI.
Here’s what an official had to say:
Many of [Yash] Chopra’s films featured Switzerland as a backdrop and he is credited with boosting the popularity of the Alpine nation among Indian tourists. Now, considering Sridevi’s role in promoting tourism here, there is a proposal to honour the actor by having her statue here.
The actress was a global icon and her legacy continues to make us proud and miss her even more all at the same time.
