It was a pleasant surprise when Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi announced their pregnancy on Instagram recently. Now my stalker mind contemplates on whether I could have guessed it earlier only through Neha’s fashion choices? I guess not. Pregnancy glow aside (I mean, look at her), her maternity fashion is no different from her usual picks. So, it was hard to figure out the good news. But currently, I am totally into her pregnancy style. Yes, I am even drooling over her ramp walk for Payal Singhal.
Moms-to-be, Neha will be your style guide for the months before you pop. I did observe a few tricks you can learn from her to style that baby bump fashionably:
1. Go for lightweight, natural fabrics.
Breathable fabrics crafted from natural fibres are the most comfortable textiles to wear during pregnancy. The airiness helps combat the increase in body temperature during those months.
2. Oversized dresses are sure winners.
Comfort is key when it comes to maternity fashion, and nothing says cosy than oversized, loose dresses. You get to bank on that easy-breezy look.
3. Layer it up.
During pregnancy, it’s assumed that layers add on to the size. But when the silhouettes are such that help you to cover the bump in a stylish way, then layering is the way to go.
4. Accentuate your empire line.
An outfit that accentuates the empire line works well with the new body silhouette, especially the fit and flare look cinched at the empire line.
5. Chunky accessories are your BFFs.
Bigger the accessories, bolder the look. Take a cue from Neha’s vacay style and you’ll know that a beach bag or a large size tote makes for a great OOTD element.
6. Stay true to your style.
What I liked about her pregnancy style, in general, was the way she stayed true to her style. She was already known for her effortless fashion choices, and I love the fact that she continued to build on it.
Which of these lessons would you take away from her maternity style? Moms-to-be, let us know in the comments below.
