It’s day 3 of Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2018 and we already can’t seem to get enough. While truth be told, we were pretty much drained and exhausted after our 48 hour shift earlier, but we were also pleasantly surprised by the fact that the third day energised us more than ever! So much so that we just wanted everything from the runway—The ruffle pants, distressed jeans with suede coats, printed shift dresses, maxis, rich Kanjivaram silks saris and soo much more! Scroll down to check out the ones that almost made us hurl our hand out straight from the front row…
1. Kanika Goyal
From the entire collection, this ‘Valid For Months’ t-shirt dress has got to be our favourite. We saw a lot of detailing with embroidery, PVC, suede, silk, Dutch satin that was interwoven with quirky and edgy pieces.
2. Shift by Nimish Shah
One for understated and easy flowing pieces, Nimish’s collection saw a bevy of ombré striped shirt dress, biker jackets, white balloon-sleeved tops, gold embroidery on sleeves and fun strappy summer dresses that would be just so perfect for a holiday in Capri!
3. Poochki by Ishanee Mukherjee and Anirudh Chawla
Inspired by the clouds, Poochki’s unconventional silhouettes and designs were something we were completely drawn into. Sheer feminine dresses which were paired crinkled silk organza was something to write home about. Flirty shirts, hand-block prints, tie-dye gave each piece on the runway a unique spin.
4. Gaurang
Titled “Mahanati” meaning ‘pride of actresses’, Gaurang’s collection combined elegance with style and glamour. From brocades, silks, organzas, hand woven sateens and chiffons, we were blown away by the beauty of the rich fabric and the designs.
5. Arpita Mehta
Arpita’s collection has always left us feeling super dreamy and feminine. Ruffles, frills, flounce and a whole lot of beautiful pastel colours later, the “La Fleur” collection lives up to its name. We also loved the blouses with matching pants, capes, saris with sequinned corsets, jumpsuits and flowing capes. Oh and then there was Karisma Kapoor that walked as the showstopper too!
6. Nachiket Barve
Regal and royal are the terms that come to one’s mind when they see Nachiket’s collection. The free-flow fabric with bold embroidery was seen on his designs. We love how well he used vibrant, non-conventional colours with each piece.
7. Amit Aggarwal
While this was his first menswear line, we also witnessed some really cool styles we would picture ourselves in! Pristine whites, clean cuts and silhouettes we all over the runway. The designs oozed a futuristic feel which was paired with a laser light show on the runway.
