After a long and brutally stressful day at work, or just in general, we all need a little downtime. Monday is the kind of day that really takes a lot out of you. You’re usually pretty grumpy or cranky by the end of it and that’s not a good note to end your night on. Unwinding after a long day is pretty helpful, especially when it comes to waking up positive for the next day. So, here are 5 things to help you destress!
1. Listen To Some Music
It is literally scientifically proven that music is one of the best ways to de-stress yourself. Just be sure to pick the right kind of music. Something that matches your mood or that makes you happy. If the BPM is too high, you might just end up with a headache. If you can listen to music while working through the day, we recommend you that. It really helps at the end of the day.
2. Watch Some Cute Videos
Well, usually videos of kittens, puppies or babies tend to get you pretty relaxed. It’s something many people do. It’s something about how cute they are and how you laugh and tend to smile when you watch them.
3. Exercise Or Yoga
Well, another great way to destress after work is to actually exercise. Since the weather is pretty unpredictable, an alternative could be some yoga. It really does help you get rid of all the negativity of the day. If you do it regularly, you’ll start to notice the difference in the morning.
4. Indulge In Your Comfort Food
While some people cook to destress, others can just order out. The idea is that you do something that makes you happy in order to counter the stress. While overindulging will give you a stomach ache, a little cheat meal won’t be the end of the world.
5. Me Time
We all need a little me time every now and then. Monday’s, in particular, require you to reboot yourself. You can’t really go ham because you’ve probably got work the next day, you can, however, do something that makes you a little happy. So whether it’s a glass of wine, your favourite book or even binging on your favourite shows, do it for a while.
