Monsoon is a great time to plan a vacation whether it’s a weekend getaway nearby or leaving the country. The rains give us enough motivation to take a breather. However, after a fun vacation, comes the unwanted holiday weight gain. Today, we’ve got you a few things you could do to avoid that excess weight while you’re on a fun trip. Here they are.
1. Limit Your Drinks
Vacations are all about eating, drinking and being merry, isn’t it? While that’s really tempting, it could really make you gain some weight. To avoid that, limit your drinks or better yet, substitute those sodas or juices and use water as a mixer instead.
2. Carry Healthy Snacks
If you think you’ll be tempted to snack on chips and samosas, bring your own snacks like Nachni chips or baked sweet potatoes, etc. Carry carrots and cucumbers to snack on too.
3. Drink A lot Of Water
Stay hydrated so that all the alcohol and other junk gets flushed out of your system.
4. Eat Smaller Portions
Eating small portions throughout the day will help keep the body’s metabolism high and will aid in burning calories faster.
5. Walk A Lot
Make sure that you’re physically active during your trip. You could walk, run, cycle or swim. This will help in burning all those extra calories you may have consumed during that time.
6. Do Your Research
Before you head for a holiday, make sure to check out the availability of restaurants and stores that offer healthy food. You can then prepare yourself before you get there.
7. Travel With The Right Crew
If you travel with people who love junk food and have unhealthy habits, you may succumb to it too. Go out with like-minded and relatively healthier peeps instead.
No need to stress about gaining a few kgs anymore. Gather your crew and make sure to travel smart from now on!
