One of the most rewarding and truly life-changing experiences in life actually comes from solo travel. It’s just you, your thoughts and this new place that you need to discover. When you travel alone, you get to learn so much about yourself and the world in general. There is a reason why everyone should take a solo trip at least once in their life. If you’re planning out a solo trip, but you’re confused where to start, here are a few places that we highly recommend.
1. Spain
If you’re planning a solo trip and you’ve never been to Spain, we’d recommend you start from there. While this isn’t really an offbeat destination, it’s still a country that you need to experience. Every person that has ever been to Spain knows exactly what we’re talking about. Whether you decide to take a more unconventional route to it or decide to some of the mainstream stuff, you’re in for an experience you’re never going to forget. When solo travelling to Spain, you should stay in the hostels as it has some of the best in the world. With amazing beaches, historic sites and a crazy nightlife, it’s got everything you’re ever going to want from a more commercial solo trip.
2. Ireland
If you love nature and you’re looking to take a break to slow things down, Ireland is the perfect place. It’s bathed in a rich history and surrounded by beauty that will make you feel as if you’re in a storybook. While travelling around is a tricky situation, you can always hitchhike (if you’re brave enough) or just walk. There are beautiful sights to see and the people there are some of the easiest to get along with. The hostels and other accommodations are also super pretty and cosy. When you’re in Ireland, it’s as if all your worries have disappeared and you will truly feel rejuvenated.
3. Japan
Before we get into it, it’s important to realise that Japan is one of the more expensive places on this list. So if you’re planning a really tight budget, you may not be able to enjoy this beautiful place as much as you’d like. That being said, Japan is one of the most hospitable and friendly places for outsiders, especially those travelling alone. No matter where you go, you’ll always feel welcome. Another country with a rich culture and history, you’re sure to be charmed by it’s ways. From hiking to birdwatching, anything you want to do, Japan has it! Probably the most impressive part about it is the balance between technology and tradition.
4. Jordan
From floating in the Dead Sea to exploring the ruins and ancient cities, Jordan is sure to be an experience of a lifetime. Jordan is also an extremely hospitable country that will always make you feel welcomed. It’s like an adventure of a lifetime that you never really knew you were missing, till you got there.
