It’s that time of the year again! The time when the world is either dating, getting engaged, getting married or going to deliver babies. And what you’re really doing is deciding which cake you should devour, chocolate or fresh cream. You’re single and the world doesn’t let you forget that. Every time you go out with your family or friends, all you get asked is that one golden question that you really don’t wanna answer. And more than that, it’s watching those cheesy couples get ready for their big day. It really makes you think, doesn’t it? It makes you question yourself, even though there’s nothing wrong with you! Here are a few ways to deal with being single while everyone around you is getting hitched.
1. Stay Focused On Your Goals
You need to think about your career and everything that you’re passionate about. Focus on your job and keep yourself busy.
2. Remind Yourself Of The Advantages Of Being Single
There are so many advantages to being single. You aren’t answerable to anyone and you can go meet whoever you want, whenever you want to. That’s a great advantage, TBH!
3. Take This Time To Introspect
If you’re really looking to date someone and aren’t being able to find them, it’s time you try and think about why that’s happening. Maybe change things around and try doing something different.
4. Go Out And Meet Other Singletons
Staying around couples can make you feel FOMO. So try to avoid meeting them all the time and go out with your single friends instead. You’ll feel a lot better when you hang out with like-minded people who have similar interests.
5. Have Patience & Don’t Listen To Others
It will happen for you sooner than you expect, have patience. And stop getting pressurised by family and friends. They aren’t going to lie your life for you. Do what you feel, and when you feel like doing it. There’s absolutely no pressure. Different people will tell you different things. Hear them out but eventually do what our gut tells you.
6. Don’t Feel Too Bad
It’s okay to feel sad when others have found their soulmates. But it’s not like that’s the only thing in the world. You have so many people around you who love you and you’re doing what you love to do. You have the luxury of time and you can meet whoever you want whenever you want to. So, don’t feel too bad. There are plenty of things going well for you right now.
7. Be Thankful
As mentioned above, there’s so much to be thankful for than sulk about what you don’t have for now. You will find it. Until then, be grateful for everything you have.
Now, doesn’t that make you feel better? We hope it does. Just know that there’s someone out there who’s feeling the exact same thing you are and is also sick of feeling this way. You’re going to meet them soon. Just wait for it!
