Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju is witnessing extreme love at the box office. The film is one of the highest grossers of the years and the masses still cannot stop flooding at the theatres to witness this one. Sanju has already managed to earn a mullah of 289 crores approx. and is in no mood to stop. While the film has garnered everyone’s love, Hirani is also accused of whitewashing Sanjay Dutt’s image and showing him as a good man. Recently, Sanjay was present for an interview with India Today where the actor was asked about the same.
Dismissing the allegations, Sanjay said,
I just want to say that Munna Bhai was already made, that avatar was already out. I don’t think anyone would spend Rs 30-40 crore to change his image. That is too much of an amount. I have told the truth and the truth has been accepted by India, and the box office collection shows that.
The actor further added that he was happy that people were learning from his mistakes. Talking about his drug phase, Sanjay added,
Drug addiction is a disease which cannot be cured. Today if I think I can smoke up a joint, I’m finished. The fear of relapse is in the first five-six months of quitting. I diverted my mind in the gym. I started feeling good with my body.
We hope that all the reports can finally take a back seat.
