Priyanka Chopra who has been taking the world by a storm with her acting prowess and also her humanitarian work with UNICEF. The globetrotter has broken all norms and made a name for herself in India and on international lands. She has launched singles and also played a badass villain in Baywatch. But Priyanka became a household name in the US when she joined the ABC network as a lead for one of its crime thrillers, Quantico. The show managed to create quite the fanbase through all of its three seasons.
The show recently came to an end and while most fans were saddened that the show has come to an end. The content of its last episode titled, The Blood of Romeo was highly criticized on social media and left the Indian audiences perplexed. The episode showed ‘Indian nationalists’ planning a bomb to accuse Pakistanis of the act. Many netizens directed this anger on PeeCee for the content and shared their outrage on Twitter for their sentiments being hurt.
The producers of the show were quick to publish an official statement to the all the viewers. Even Priyanka took to Twitter to share an apology. Earlier this week Pooja Bhatt spoke in favour of the actress and now Varun Dhawan and Ayushmann Khurrana have done the same. The duo was asked about their opinion on the controversy at a recent press conference and here’s what Ayushmann said:
When you play a character, you have your own thought and that can’t be right or wrong. You’re following a script, a director and that’s your first responsibility…There are all kinds of opinions, you will get backlash when you take one side. You can’t escape this.
Varun concluded by saying:
To end it, Priyanka Chopra has made the entire country very proud and we stand by her. There’s nothing else.”
The producers had earlier mentioned that Priyanka had no creative control over the episode and its content.
