Earlier this week YRF had blown us away with the announcement of Ranbir Kapoor‘s new movie Shamshera. And today, the makers have announced that Sanjay Dutt will play Ranbir’s arch nemesis in the movie. The makers just tweeted out the news and we can’t keep calm! This is going to be EPIC.

The director of the film, Karan Malhotra also retweeted the tweet and revealed that Sanjay’s character would be something you’ve never seen before.

Talking about the film to DNA, Karan revealed a little about the characters.
Shamshera is a highly ferocious and fearless character in the film. Therefore his nemesis, the villain had to be even more fierce and monumental in every aspect. Who’s better than Sanjay Sir to give us that impact on screen.
While Ranbir will be playing Sanjay Dutt in Sanju, Sanjay will be collaborating with him for the first time. It also happens to be Sanju baba’s first film with YRF! Sanjay seems really excited to be a part of the project too.
My father and Yash uncle were very close friends and now that I’m doing my first YRF film, it is an extremely emotional moment for me. When I heard Karan’s idea to pit Ranbir against me, I thought it was just brilliant. I’m looking forward to shooting this incredibly exciting film, my second with the hugely talented Karan Malhotra.
We still haven’t forgotten Kancha Cheena from Agneepath and we can’t to see what the second Karan-Sanjay collaboration will bring to the table!
