Recently, Snapchat received a lot of hate after the Rihanna and Kylie Jenner controversy. However, the multimedia messaging app is back in the limelight with its new feature: Group Video Chat. This will make connecting with friends and family on Snapchat more personal and more fun– whether you’re planning an outing for the weekend, or wishing your mom ‘happy birthday’ with the whole family.
In 2016, Snapchat had introduced video and voice chat as part of a chat update which aimed at making it feel less like texting and more like really hanging out. But with this new feature, you can also turn any group conversation into a real-time hangout just with the tap of a button. Up to 32 friends can voice chat and up to 16 friends can video chat together at the same time, and while you’re at it you can still use the face filters to puke rainbows or be a cute puppy! Fun, isn’t it?
This Is How You Can Make A Group Call:
Step 1: Enter an existing group chat or create a new group with the people you would like to see.
Step 2: Tap the video call icon to start a live group video call or tap the phone button to start a voice chat, which will notify each group member that they have been invited to the call.
Step 3: When a group member opens the call, their name bubble will light up above your keyboard, which tells you that they’re on the call too.
Step 4: You also have an option to join a group call with only your voice, or shuffle between video and voice if you are not camera ready.
Snapchat is the first messaging app to introduce this feature. Apart from this, they have also introduced Mentions, which allows you to tag your friends in your story. Both the new features will be out globally in the next few weeks.
We can’t wait to use these cool features!
