Amita Udgata passed away last night due to a lung failure. Popular for her role as ‘amma‘ in a Star Plus soap Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya and as ‘dadi bua‘ in Sony TV’s Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi, she was a veteran of the silver screen.
The actress was on life support in a hospital in Mumbai from the past four days and had been ill for quite some time. While she became a household name with Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya, she has also been a part of other TV shows like Maharana Pratap, Baba Aiso Varr Dhundo and Doli Armaanon Ki. She also had a brief stint on the big screen with Sarbjit and Hasee Toh Phasee.
She’s survived by two sons Ruchin Udgata and Rishab Udgata and her last rites will be performed today itself.
