The first trailer of Priyanka Chopra’s second Hollywood venture is out and it looks quite promising. The movie is called A Kid Like Jake and it has been grabbing quite a lot of attention since its inception. Other than our favorite desi girl, the movie stars Big Bang Theory‘s Jim Parsons and Homeland‘s Claire Danes. While you can see PC’s character briefly introduced in the trailer, her role seems quite important to the plot.
The trailer narrates the story of parents who are in the midst of searching for a kindergarten for their son Jake. But Jake is fascinated by fairy tales and playing dress up, which obviously puts his parents in a dilemma as to how to cater to his preferences. In order to protect him from the society that’s not going to be as accepting they are, they try and search for an environment that’ll make him feel more loved and accepted.
Priyanka plays Amal, a friend of the parents and we get a 3-second glimpse of her in the trailer. Oscar-nominated, Octavia Spenser also stars in the movie as Jake’s teacher along with Aasif Mandvi who plays PC’s husband.

A Kid Like Jake was screened at the Sundance Film Festival and received critical acclaim for Claire’s and Jim’s performances. Priyanka took to Twitter to show her fans and followers the first trailer of the movie.
