Ayushmann Khurrana – “Had All My Films Been Successful, My Wife Tahira Would Have Left Me”

Pallavi Manoj

After enjoying major successes with Bareily Ki Barfi and Shubh Mangal Savdhaan last year, Ayushmann Khurrana is all geared up to take 2018 by the collar. Waiting in pipeline are two of his much awaited projects, Badhai Ho opposite Sanya Malhotra and  Sriram Raghavan’s tentatively titled flick Shoot The Piano Player.

But with big success comes big ego or so you’d think…

In a recent interview with a magazine, Ayushmann talked about his success and failure and how his wife, Tahira Kashyap has been his rock through thick and thin.

“After the first film, our personal life was affected. I had no time for my family. You begin to feel big, your ego swells. Then I got back on track. It’s great to see both sides in these five years. The highs and the lows. Personally, and professionally, it has made me balanced. It gives you a better perspective of life. Honestly, had all my films been successful, my wife would have left me. I’d have been a different person. She has been with me through thick and thin. That’s why we’re together.”

He kept it honest when revealing that while Tahira used to feel jittery when she saw Ayushmann kiss other woman on-screen , she now understands the space an artiste needs and demands. He even spoke out about how Tahira had grown from his girlfriend from Chandigarh to someone who has shot a short film and will soon be directing a feature film.

Keepin’ in real as always, Ayushmann. And you know what they say, a couple that stays together, slays together!

While we are super excited for your projects, we can’t wait for what Tahira might have in store for us!
