Our country is blessed with many brilliant chefs that have made a global presence in the culinary space. These chefs use different and unique cooking methods that redefine the hospitality business of India. Today, we’ve got you a list of chefs that have evolved the culinary experience in Mumbai with their innovative way of cooking. Here they are:
1. Kelvin Cheung
The main man behind Bastian is the one of the most creative chefs. From Ellipsis to One Street Over and Bastian has been an interesting ride. With the most creative sea food dishes, Chef Kelvin has given us many reasons to go and try these out.
2. Saransh Goila
Saransh, aka Sadak Chef is a young chef who is now famous for nailing the classic Indian Butter Chicken. He has opened his own restaurant called Goila Butter Chicken at multiple locations in Mumbai. He has also made many TV appearances and has also won many awards in the culinary space.
3. Rohan D’souza
Chef and genius behind a lot of great restaurants in Mumbai including Estella and Nom Nom, Rohan has always got us wanting more. He has redefined the fine dine experience and we’re loving every bit of it.
4. Pooja Dhingra
She is a celebrity pastry chef who studied culinary at Le Cordon Bleu, Paris. She has founded the famous Le 15 Patisserie chain in Mumbai.
5. Ranveer Brar
He’s won several culinary awards since he started his career back in the early 2000’s. He has hosted many shows out of which The Great Indian Rasoi was most popular. He has designed menus for many restaurants including the recent FLYP @ MTV.
6. Gresham Fernandes
Chef Gresham is known for his creativity in the kitchen. He was trained under Chef Vicky Ratnani at Aurus, and then CEO Riyaz Amlani of Imrepesario Hospitality partnered with him to create delectable menus for Smoke House Deli and Salt Water Cafe.
7. Thomas Zacharias
A budding chef in Mumbai, Chef Zac is an extremely talented chef. He heads the kitchen at the famous restaurant called Bombay Canteen in Mumbai. With extremely fresh ingredients and innovative dishes, he has carved a niche for Bombay Canteen and given us some serious food goals.
8. Kunal Kapur
Apart from being a great chef, he is also famous for judging the Masterchef India series and has also won multiple television awards.
9. Sandeep Sreedharan
Chef Sandeep originally is from Kerala. He has now taken over Curry Tales, a restaurant in Khar. The idea was to offer a home-style coastal menu to the consumers that makes it the ideal comfort food. He has maintained the authenticity of this cuisine and we love it.
10. Rakhee Vaswani
Certified by Le Cordon Bleu at Gordon Ramsay’s Tante Marie in London, Rakhee is one of the most talented chefs in the city. Rakhee’s launched her very own cooking studio called Palate Culinary Studio in 2010. In this studio she trains budding chefs, amateurs, professionals and food enthusiasts alike.
