Sridevi‘s sudden death has shocked the entire country. While her family and fans are still reeling under the news of her demise, forensic reports of her death have come out and details are of her autopsy are pouring in. According to Gulf News, Dubai Police’s investigation has shown that Sridevi drowned in the bathtub of her hotel room. They found traces of alcohol in her body and this may have led to the accident. The investigation is still going on to determine the circumstances surrounding her death. It was earlier reported that her demise was caused due to a cardiac arrest. The official reason has now been changed to ‘accidental drowning’.

As per a report on Times of India, the way forward in Dubai is that if a person dies in the hospital and if the cause of death is known then the process to release the body is supposedly quicker. But, if a death occurs outside a hospital, even if it’s a natural death, then the police will register the case and begin their investigation. If the body has to be sent abroad for cremation, then there are more formalities involved.
The Kapoors waited all of Sunday to get her body but it wasn’t released till Monday as the UAE police had to conduct an autopsy, which happened earlier today. ANI has reported that the police have handed the report over to the family and the Indian consulate.
