The final day of New York Fashion Week had shows from the whole spectrum. From high-fashion to ridiculously sexy to oversized clothing. Installations, dark runways and sparkling lights set the mood for day 7 like never before, and we couldn’t be more excited. Here’s looking at 9 of our most favourite collections from the final day of New York Fashion Week.
1. Michael Kors
Michael Kors mixes prints and textures like no other for his Fall 2018 Ready To Wear collection. There was a burst of floral and animal print on the runway designed for everything from slip dresses to heavy trench coats, bags and shoes too. He even threw in a little bit of sparkle and left us double-tappin’.
2. All Comes From Nothing
For women, by women, All Comes From Nothing (ACFN) is all about creating clothes for the innovative woman. Needless to say that their collection reflected just that, clothes that were feminine, strong as well as sexy.
3. Esteban Cortazar
From Sunday brunches to work or even for a quick pitstop at the nearest McDonald’s, you could wear Esteban Cortazar’s line almost anywhere. We saw sharp blazers, slinky slips, oversized denim jackets, strappy bodysuits and shimmy-worthy dresses grace the runway like never before.
4. Leanne Marshall
Beauty-FULL. Leanne Marshall was all about letting it freely flow. With her designs beautifully sweeping the runway in sunset hues. But the biggest aspect of this show was inclusivity as Marshall had models of all sizes, heights, and races walk the runway.
5. LaQuan Smith
Sexy done right! The sensual and glamorous factor was high with this one. Loads of black, loads of lace, loads of sparkle in bodycon dresses, jumpsuits, skirts with plunging necklines. The fierce faces of the models were what made this collection all kinds of powerful and sexy.
6. Edun
Crochet dresses, printed pantsuits, striped shirts and more—the vibe of Edun’s line somehow transported us back to the ’70s with the colours and textures he used. To add to this aesthetic, the bike at the gallery was decorated in the same way as his collection which gave it a wholesome feel.
7. Marcel Ostertag
It was a millennial disco party at Marcel Ostertag’s show this season. From naked dresses to sequinned animal prints, hoodies and more, his collection screamed eccentric. P.S. Plus, we heart those thigh-high boots!
8. Arianne Elmy
From sparkles to pleats, peplums to skinny jeans, there was a little something for everyone at Arianne Elmy’s installation on the final day of New York Fashion Week. We especially cannot get over the black and beige pieces from her line.
9. Marc Jacobs
With a maximalist concept in mind, Marc Jacob brought forth big bows, baggy trousers, broad shoulders, quilted bags to his pitch-dark runway. His collection was exaggerated in every way possible. The collection was even more impactful as every piece showcased was in bright, bold colours as well as textures. What an amazing end to the Fashion Week!
