The 11th edition of Sula Fest was insane (in a good way!). The two-day music, food and wine extravaganza had Amit Trivedi headlining the festival with other international artists like Parov Stellar, Gypsy Hill, Crystal Fighters and Bauchklang performing to packed crowds. What sets Sula Fest apart from other music festivals is that this is a Gourmet World Music Festival. So apart from kickass music, you also have a wide range of wines to taste (this is Sula after all) innumerable choices in food and cocktails that made us all really, really happy.
As a part of the media, Team MissMalini bloggers Swagata Dam, Divya Rao and yours truly spent our weekend chilling like complete villains. Here’s a list of the 11 most memorable moments from the epic Sula Fest!
1) The tour
On Saturday (Day 1: SulaFest), we got a carefully curated inside tour in the winery where we were given a sneak peak into the wine making process and a wine tasting session. It was informative, insightful and very, very interesting.
2) The food
If you were craving pasta, there was an Italian joint, you wanted good ol’s Chindian cuisine? There were innumerable options. There were Lebanese rolls, burgers, Maharashtrian thaalis and many, many more options to eat at Sula Fest. As people who are perpetually hungry, this was really one of our favourite parts of the weekend.
3) Chugging a lot of wine
Best.
4) Meeting Parov Stellar
We officially became cool people after that.
5) Grape Stomping
Messy, gross but a lot of fun is how people describe me and the act of stomping grapes.
6) Wine Tasting
We had fun wine tasting session with Karan Vasani, VP Winemaking, Sula. Different types of Reds, Whites and Rosés made our day pretty *interesting*.
7) Those cocktails
As bright as the sun!
8) AMIT TRIVEDI!
From London Thumadka, to Zinda, to Udta Punjab and of course, Dev D, Amit and his team of talented singers rocked the party and how!
9) Clean bathrooms
This might sound funny, but as a woman, I cannot emphasis enough on the importance of clean washrooms at public places. Sula Fest made sure that the washrooms were always in usable conditions, which was very comforting.
10) The media zone
There was a place kept specially for the media to get their Wi-Fi sorted, phones charged and to catch a breath, which again was a great gesture from the team.
11) The vineyard
S T U N N I N G
Can’t wait for the 12th edition of Sula Fest already!
