New York Fashion Week FW18 began in the city of dreams in full swing. As thankful as we always are for social media, this week, we had even more reason to be. While nothing is like sitting front row at fashion week, our detailed social media stalking from NYFW will suffice for now. Day 1 kicked off with some of the most amazing styles we’ve seen, some that we can already see ruling 2018 too. So without further ado, here are the collections we’re obsessing over from saat samundar par:
1. Colovos
When we saw the final line up, we spotted clothes that we could wear for every season. The designers Nicole and Michael Colovos haven’t used leather or fur in favor of faux varieties but rather sourced these fabrics that were made from recycled plastic bottles for this collection. How amazing is that?
2. Noon by Noor
Sharp silhouettes with a little bit of glam made its way down the runway with every piece we saw from Noon by Noor’s FW 18 line.
3. Cinq A Sept
All about regality, Cinq A Sept shows us how to dress like we own the building. Tones of mustard, plush velvet, faux fur and more; this collection screamed royal.
4. Eugenia Kim
In honor of the brand’s 20th anniversary, Eugenia Kim went deep into these very years and showcased a line of hats that were iconic, to say the least. She displayed ones that have been worn by divas like Britney Spears, Madonna, Christina Aguilera and more!
5. PH5
Pop art brought to life! PH5 was a total visual party on the runway. Bright rainbow inspired stripes, squiggly hemlines, pleated jumpsuits and more, this was truly a collection of the future.
6. Tadashi Shoji
I’d wear everything from Tadashi Shoji’s line every day if I could. The silhouettes were perfectly pretty and the designs on em? Even prettier. Below is a snapshot of a few of my favorite looks.
7. Lanyu
Lan Yu’s all-white attired army took over the runway and how! From jumpsuits that you could wear on date night to dresses that were perfect for Sunday brunches; trust us when we say that pieces from Lanyu’s line are what you need this season.
8. Ulla Johnson
Behind all the frills and fur, Ulla Johnson’s FW line had more than meets the eye. She called this collection Meditation on Trousers; because as recent as 1993 women wearing trousers on the U.S. Senate floor was looked down upon. So Johnson pulled out all the stops to make a statement with this line. Models were wearing trousers, even if it was under a shin-length dress.
9. Adam Selman
If there is someone who can ace fun, bold and stylish all in one go,
Fun, bold, ever-so-sordid was the aim here. Upon closer inspection, one shirt bore an allover print of a girl salaciously straddling a giant banana. Selman said he was most enamored with a tiger print, which he rendered as a wrap tank dress, loose V-neck knits, and seductive off-the-shoulder numbers. A sexy, sheer version of that print stalked the runway as a sharp-shouldered and cinched trench. And, denim’s biggest fan, Selman couldn’t have a show without that most provocative of materials—well, after vinyl, and there appeared to be some of that too.
10. Jeremy Scott
Millenial human meets intergalactic being. Jeremy Scott made sure there wasn’t a single dull moment on the runway with this collection. From funky wigs to rexine skirts and furry bangles, the “Galaxy Girls” as he calls them were eccentric in the best way possible.
