Carrie Bradshaw from Sex And The City had once said, “Maybe our girlfriends are our soulmates and guys are just people to have fun with.” And a lot of us happen to agree with her, don’t we? So we make sure that we take some time out of our professional as well as dating lives to be able to spend some quality time with our girlies every now and then.
From brunching in our pretty pastel dresses to partying hard at the newest club in town – we enjoy a lot activities with our gal pals. But the one thing that we enjoy the most is spending the night indoor in our PJs and watching our favourite chick-flicks and shows. However, I’m sure just like my girlfriends and me, most of you also usually end up watching Hollywood movies and international sit-coms. After all, we all know that for a long period of time, the Indian entertainment industry didn’t churn out any content that’s solely meant for women.
But the times are changing and a lot of cool shows and movies have been churned out especially for us in the recent past. So I decided to give you a low-down on 5 wonderful Indian web series that you should totally binge-watch during your next sleepover night!
1) The Trip
Featuring four very talented women – Lisa Haydon, Mallika Dua, Sapna Pabbi and Shweta Tripathi – this one traces the journey of four girlfriends who go on a road trip to Thailand for the bride’s bachelorette. The trip turns into a crazy yet emotional roller-coaster for each of them.
2) Girl In The City
A Dehradun girl comes to Mumbai to follow her dreams. In the process, she finds some friends forever, some temporary foes and love. While she misses her parents who are back home, she also loves her new life and the independence that comes along. Played by Mithila Palkar, Meera Sehgal‘s is strong, inspiring yet quite relatable.

5) The Test Case
This one’s a little different from the fun and dramatic stories mentioned above. She does anything and everything to fit into the male-dominated academy. Will she finally be the Indian Army’s first ever Female Combat Officer? Watch to find out.
