Buzzing on approximately 573 cups of coffee, we experienced Lakmé Fashion Week SR18 in all its glory. From watching beatboxers on the runway, spotting shoe trends to seeing some of our favorite designer sketches come to life; Summer Resort style took a versatile twist this season with some prominent trends. We spotted light fabrics and a whole lot of glam for the summer-lovin’ girl. The modern twist on jackets, fanny packs and more took centre stage this season. Here are a few trends we spotted from all the shows we attended at LFW SR18.
1. Glitterati Gang
If we had a penny for every time we spotted sparkle on the runway! These designers played with sequins in the best possible way. From sari blouses to dresses and even belts, there was sparkle galore at Lakme Fashion Week SR18.

2. Summer Ready Silhouettes
Summer is all about wearable fashion. From casual to resort wear, we saw a wardrobe full of light fabrics we could wear from the runway this season.

3. Sheer’s The Way
These ensembles from SR 18 proved that sheer can be sexy, bold, fun and contemporary all at once. Whether we’re talking about the good ol’ desi dupatta or a contemporary skirt, we saw the versatility of this fabric brought to life.

4. Metallic Deets
Detailed embroideries, accents, metallic pleather; whether small or big we loved how designers have introduced this element to their collections.

5. Coats & Jackets Galore
We swear by the layering life and after seeing lightweight, long line jackets and coats like these, we couldn’t help but think of all the amazing OOTDs we’d be wearing this year.

6. Delicate Details
There was so much attention to detail when it came to embroideries and prints. Whether it was floral, animal-inspired, these deets left us swooning.

7. Pleats Please
We saw three kinds of pleats strut down the runway, and each of them so neat and sharp in its own way. We spotted it on jackets, on the hem of lehengas and more. Looks like we’ll be seeing so much more of this style in 2018.

8. Fun Fringes
On saris, shirts, and bustiers the fringe was a total eyecatcher on the runway.

9. Orange Is The New Black
From pantsuits to co-ord sets and more, looks like summer style in 2018 is going to be all orange and bright.

We’d like to call these the fanny pack 2.0. The structured shape and contemporary colours we saw on the runway showed us these bum bags are here to stay.
