If there’s one face you’d expect to see in a ‘Race‘ movie, it’s that of Saif Ali Khan. He was the lead in the first film and the sequel to it – both of which did really well at the box office – and not to forget, got all of us crushing on Saif Ali Khan playing the quick-witted badass! Not going to lie, I was quite surprised when the cast of Race 3 was announced a couple of weeks ago and it didn’t mention Saif’s name. This sequel will instead have Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Bobby Deol, Saqib Saleem, Freddy Daruwala and Daisy Shah. An interesting mix of people but you can be sure Abbas-Mustan know how to keep us at the edge of our seats.
Anyway, Saif was recently asked about why he wasn’t a part of the film and he revealed to IANS that he was offered the film but didn’t feel a connection with the part that he was offered.
Ramesh Taurani said I’m making a completely different movie this time with a totally different story. I was offered a part but Salman Khan is the best thing to happen to anybody. He’s the biggest star in the country. I didn’t feel a connection myself with the part I was offered. So, I decided to do something else.
We’re definitely going to miss Saif in this one!
