We’ve all heard of lipsticks that promise a velvety soft finish. But placing actual velvet on your pout? That’s so extra.
Founded by makeup artist, Jessica Ferrelli, this trend involves sticking on the soft material on your lips. The resultant look is a plush, smooth look that looks retro and luxurious. Although it’s definitely not practical for a daily look (how do you even eat?), we can’t deny that this lip art makes for a great Instagram post.
Whilst we don’t know how the exact method used in this fad, we can gauge two ways of replicating it. The first way involves cutting out a cloth velvet to the shape of your lips. You can use a lash glue to stick it on precisely.
If you are looking for an easier way, then reach for your makeup kit. Layer on a liquid lipstick or sticky gloss first. Then, dust on some flocking to get texture.
