Aditya Chopra’s Befikre saw Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor share some crackling chemistry, and not to forget those catchy numbers that the movie gave us. The film was promoted at a huge scale and the trailer was even launched at the Eiffel Tower in Paris – I mean, how often does that happen, correct? Despite a promising trailer, the film tanked at the box office. I don’t quite understand why because I enjoyed the film when I watched it, but that’s the thing with films – you never know what might work and what wont. Unless of course, you’re Salman Khan.
Rani Mukerji, in an interview with Film Companion, spoke about Befikre tanking and the effect it had on her husband Aditya Chopra – who has in the past given us some of Bollywood’s biggest hits.
I loved Befikre, but it was hard for Aditya Chopra to see failure.
She also added that this was probably the first time he was experiencing failure at such a large scale, and it obviously wasn’t an easy process to go through. It never really is, is it?
